I left the big brokerage firms in 2001 to become an independent investment advisor - fiduciary. Since 2001 I have been fee only, no commissions. If you make money I will make more money, If you lose money I will make less money. My main goal is to outperform the stock market long term without the large up and down years of the stock market.
Pershing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon, member FINRA/SPIC. They do all trading and provide statements and other necessary paperwork for my clients and myself. Besides the government and religious organizations, Blackstone is the largest owner of commercial real estate in the world. I use a couple of Blackstone limited partnerships that have consistently delivered impressive returns over the years.
I also have hedge funds, that have a history of making money in both Bull and Bear markets. The SEC requires hedge fund investors to be a qualified investor. My largest hedge fund position with my clients is a hedge fund with a strategy focused on long/short equity, bonds, commodities, and currencies. The fund has a 35 year track record that only has one losing year. They lost 4% in 2008. Their annualized return over the past 35 years is over 12%.
